Day 5

Darkness is nothing more than the absence of light.

I often find it comforting to remember that on even the darkest of nights I can push back the shadows with the smallest flame. I can light a candle, turn on a small lamp, or look upon the moon on the dimmest nights and see the rays of light illuminate a path clear enough for anyone who looks to follow.

When we feel overwhelmed the same metaphor can be helpful in our personal lives. We should remember that light is an apt metaphor for our thoughts. What would happen if we chose to light our own paths with powerful thoughts of positive intent? Would we able to push back the darkness of fear, uncertainty, and hard work?
